Large scale renewable energy projects
RES has been an established presence at the forefront of the wind energy industry for two decades. Our core activity is the development, design, construction, financing and operation of wind farm projects worldwide. With a portfolio of more than 2700MW constructed and several thousand megawatts under construction and in development, RES continues to play a leading role in what is now the world’s fastest growing energy sector.
RES is also an independent power producer. We own and operate a growing portfolio of wind farms around the world, currently totalling over 300MW.
Onsite renewables
RES offers a range of building integrated renewable energy technologies for the industrial, public and commercial sectors. Through our considerable experience of working on renewable energy projects, we can offer a range of services and we are unique in our ability to deliver all the main forms of renewable energy technology (solar photovoltaic, solar hot water, biomass, ground source heating and cooling and wind).
RES and its specialist technology partner companies have already delivered thousands of renewable projects. From design and installation to fuel supply, operation and maintenance, we will design a sustainable solution for you.
Creating sustainable built environments
Inbuilt is an independent RES Group company, providing design and consulting excellence associated with the delivery of sustainable built environments. Inbuilt adopts radical new thinking, develop bold new approaches and provide complete integrated solutions to pursue our vital mission: to ensure that sustainability becomes ‘inbuilt’.

RES is part of the Sir Robert McAlpine group, a British family-owned firm with over 100 years’ experience in construction and engineering. Renewable Energy Systems Holdings Limited is a subsidiary of Sir Robert McAlpine Enterprises Limited, and has three primary direct subsidiaries:
- Renewable Energy Systems Limited (our main operating company in relation to wind assets);
- RES Enterprises Limited (a relatively new division which is committed to building integrated renewable energy technologies for the industrial, public and commercial sectors); and
- Inbuilt Limited (a relatively new division which is committed to providing technical and consulting excellence in sustainable built environments).
These four RES Group companies are the group holding company and the main operating companies respectively of the RES Group, further details of which are set out below.
